AG DAY – BCAC

AG DAY 2021

 

Organized by BCAC, Ag Day is a series of scheduled meetings between B.C. farmers and ranchers, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, senior government officials and other key stakeholders such as B.C.’s Agriculture Land Commission (ALC). In addition to connecting with government, another objective of Ag Day is to increase the awareness around the positive impact agriculture has on the local economy while also communication the challenges the sector faces.



VIRTUAL EVENT

BCAC's annual advocacy event, Ag Day in Victoria, took place virtually this year on October 26 - 27, 2021. Over 50 B.C. farmers, ranchers and agricultural representatives connected with cabinet ministers, MLAs and key government staff over two days with 35 meetings, including meetings with:

  • Hon. Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture, Food & Fisheries
  • Hon. Harry Bains, Minister of Labour
  • Hon. Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation
  • Hon. Katrine Conroy, Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development

This year's discussions focused on food security, water security and labor security. Members successfully secured follow-up meetings on a number of key priorities.
