Highlighting BC Producers' Values

This survey will be open until December 7, 2018.

Survey Information

The agriculture sector in British Columbia is built on the hard work, passion, and deeply rooted values of producers. Values highlight what we believe in and provide a code of conduct for our behavior.

BC Agriculture Council knows that producers live their values every day and engage in practices which are environmentally, economically and socially sustainable. However, sometimes the public is not aware of what those values are, or how they align with what they believe is important.

Research* shows that one of the most effective ways to build trust with consumers is through shared values. Therefore, BCAC is working to develop a set of “shared values statements” for the agri-food industry, with the goal to maintain and enhance perceptions of BC agriculture among the BC public. As part of this process, BCAC would like to get the input of producers to be sure that communications fully reflect the shared values of the industry.

BCAC is working with Insights West (a professional market research firm) to conduct a short survey.

This survey should take 10 minutes or less to complete and all of your answers will be completely confidential. The results will be provided only in aggregate to BCAC and you will not be linked with your individual responses. We have set a target of 500 responses from BC farmers and ranchers. Each person that participates has the chance to enter in a draw for 1 of 5 $100 VISA gift cards.

Please note: This survey will be open until December 7, 2018

*The Centre for Food Integrity reports that shared values are “3 to 5 times more important than competence in building trust”.
